Gamescom Latam 2026: Connecting, Learning, and Looking Ahead
The biggest Game Conference of Latin America
I’m thrilled to share that Game Conference MX ran a prize for free tickets to Gamescom Latam 2026, and I was selected among all the participants, the only one going from Chile. I can’t thank Game Conference MX enough for making this possible. This is my first time attending the event and my first time in Brazil, so there is a lot to look forward to!
For those unfamiliar, the BIG Festival has been running in São Paulo since 2012 as the world’s largest indie games competition. In 2024 it became part of the newly launched Gamescom Latam, turning the event into the biggest game conference in Latin America. It’s open to the public, but also includes a dedicated business track with meetings, talks, and networking; so if you’re part of the industry you get to enjoy the event as a consumer while also making the most of the professional side.
My main focus this time is to explore new opportunities as a Unity Game Developer for the second half of 2026, especially around gameplay and feature implementation. My current contract ends in July, and after a decade of shipping features and representing Chilean indie games at events like GDC, I’m looking for the right team and project to join next. I hope to connect with amazing developers at the event, both at networking sessions and on the show floor.
I’m coming as an independent developer this time, without representing any of the Chilean games I’m currently helping develop. That said, I’ll absolutely be mentioning them whenever the chance comes up. On that note, make sure to visit the ProChile booth on the show floor. They’ll be showcasing a great selection of Chilean games, and you’ll probably find me hanging around there from time to time.
There are some pretty interesting things happening around the event. On the 29th, Unity is hosting a private event alongside Google during Preview Day. I’ll share anything noteworthy I learn from there. Beyond that, there are after-hours showcases lined up where all kinds of amazing games will be shown. As for talks, I haven’t fully checked the schedule yet, but I’ve spotted a few good ones on narrative and game design that I don’t want to miss. Once I’m back, I’ll be putting together a full writeup with takeaways from the talks and any Unity news from the private event; similar to my GDC 2026 report.
If you’ll be at Gamescom Latam, please reach out. Leave a comment here or send me a message on LinkedIn. Let’s connect and chat about all things videogames!
